The awards of the fund for the Hungarian Culture in Transcarpathia were handed over for the first time on the 7-th of December
The ceremony took place at the Ferenc Rakoczi secondary school of Mukachevo. The fund was created in 2012 by Gyula Kiss, a teacher born in Transcarpathia, within the framework of the Franciscan Mission Foundation for Transcarpathia. The aim of the fund consists in supporting the tuition of the Hungarian folk-dancing and the promotion of runic writing in Transcapathian Hungarian schools; awarding Transcarpathian teachers who had great achievements in teaching Hungarian language, literature and history. This year the Hungarian Secretary of State for National Policy also contributed a significant amount to the support of the Hungarian folk-dancing. The ceremony continued with a concert.
